Twisted Tails with Rat King

We were given the amazing opportunity to spend some time with this master of twisting tails, Rat King. (Formerly known as R&D) Though he's originally from Minnesota, he now resides in Virginia. This independent comedy rapper is ready to claim his throne while also making a positive impact on the world not just the music scene! While his journey has been anything but easy and sometimes even without a home, he doesn't and won't allow his experiences to define him but mold him and remind him where he came from. For him life's a game that he intends to play until he can't play anymore. He did just release a new single, "Faces," but he has way more new releases in the works and on the way.

"When a bunch of rats get into a sewer sometimes their tails get tied together and it becomes what's called a "rat king." So I'm the Rat King because I'm the master of twisting tails. (tales)"

What Advice Would You Give To Artists?

"Make connections with people you normally wouldn't."

What Do You Want To Be Remembered For?

"I want everyone to know I'm real, I'm here and I love music. I am going to be here creatively whether anyone listens or not."

What Is Your Favorite Track You Created?

"My most recent release Faces is my favorite. It's different than what I've done in the past. It's very pinned down."

When Can We Expect New Music?

"I was actually recording before this interview. Sometime in the next two weeks I have a comedy single dropping."

Rat King is a rat of many trades in this music world as he is not only a rapper but also a producer and engineer. He is on the move like never before and knows that this journey is only the beginning but far from where he started in the sewers. Rat King is newly rebranded but still has plenty of content that is available on all streaming platforms with so much more to come, and we the Ascendance family are excited to check out.

If any of his answers resonated with you or you just have something to add, feel free to leave a comment. Check out the full interview on our Podcast or the video below. Thank you for being a part of the family.
