Song Review #2.3 Jay Day & Elijah Worden - Pt 2

As independent musicians ourselves, we know how important helpful feedback and support is, so we give each song a thorough review based on what they said their skill level was, and our opinion of the beat, cadence, lyrics, and replay value. Take a listen to these three artists and let us know what you would've rated them!

Elijah Worden - Tinted Windows (7.29)

This was a fun track to review. If you're looking for a track to play while you're on a road trip with your homies, this is the perfect song for you.

What inspired the song?

I heard the beat made the hook on spot had issues doing a verse so I got my friends on it till I realized there was a 3rd verse so I hop on it

What is the song about?

Having a good time smoking with the homie in the car.

Critiques: We loved the cadence all three artists delivered on this track, and really enjoyed the laid back vibe of the song overall. The main critiques were about the vocal mixes being at different volumes. Overall great track!

Jay Day - Love U (6.96)

You'll fall in love when you hear Jay Day's smooth voice. Jay Day wrote Love U as a tribute to his wife, and we are smitten with the track, and its backstory. It's an R&B bop that we can imagine hearing in the background of a romance movie.

What inspired the song?

My wife.

What message or feeling do you want listeners to get from this song?

I want the listeners to feel the love.

Critiques: With such beautiful vocals, our main critiques were asking for a mix that puts Jay Day's voice more in the foreground, and with less auto tune so we can hear that smooth vibrato better.

We encourage you to check out each of these artists either on our Ascendance Family Playlist or the links attached and let us know how you would rate each of these songs. See you next time with more indie reviews!
